Tape Recovery Process

1. Discuss

The first step in a successful tape data recovery is to discuss the problem with us. Our tape specialists can often identify the cause of the problem simply by listening to your description of events. This consultation enables us to determine what type of service you need. 

2. Evaluation File Report and Quote

All tape recoveries are performed in a secure, dust-free clean room environment. Our proprietary tools can “force” the drive to read around bad areas to recover your tape data.

A low-level read of the tape is performed and our engineers work with a secured copy of your data to identify the data format and recover your files. We then provide you with a full list of recoverable files and quantify the additional work required to complete your data recovery. You then decide if you would like to proceed with a recovery or not.

3. Return

A copy of your data is held securely while your recovered data is returned to you. Once you are satisfied that the recovery has been successful we destroy any copies of your data and return your original tape.
